Components of pharmaceutical freeze dryer

What are the main parts of a pharmaceutical freeze dryer? The pharmaceutical freeze dryer is composed of a freeze-drying chamber, medium circulation system, refrigeration system, vacuum system, pneumatic system, cold trap, CIP system, SIP system, hydraulic system, and a control system that monitors and controls the work of the entire machine.

The freeze-drying box is used to load the freeze-dried products and transfer the heat of sublimation. The freeze-drying box of the pharmaceutical freeze-drying machine can also pre-freeze the products. Cold traps are used to remove water vapor generated when the product is dried.

The medium circulation system provides sublimation heat to the product through the freeze-drying box. The refrigeration system of the freeze-drying box freezes the product through the shelves. The cold trap refrigeration system is used to freeze the water vapor generated when the product is lyophilized.

The vacuum system is a system that maintains the vacuum state of the freeze-drying box and the cold trap. The pneumatic system provides compressed air to the pneumatic valve and the locking mechanism of the box door. The hydraulic system is used to press the stopper of the lyophilized product bottle into the bottle. Cleaning-in-place (CIP) systems are used to clean freeze-drying chambers and cold traps prior to use. Sterilization-in-place (SIP) systems are used to sterilize freeze-drying boxes and cold traps before use.
