Freeze dryers have variety of applications in different fields, and have a high use frequency, therefore it is important to check if the freeze dryer can work normally. In this article, I am going to introduce you some of the basic daily maintenance of freeze dryers.
The use and maintenance of freeze dryers need to follow strict orders, especially the changing of grease. The change of grease used for freeze dryers depends on the temperature of compressor. If the temp is high, then the grease should be changed more frequently. Under normal conditions, it would be better to check grease every 10000h. For the first time compressor is running, we would recommend you to change grease and clean the oil filter when 2000h. If the system runs well, then it would be better to change grease every 20000h. Remember to avoid long time contact with air, because freezer has water imbibition.
If the freeze dryer is experiencing malfunction, the cause of malfunction must be find out. If the freeze dryer’s motor burns out, the paint and other impurities will be all over the refrigeration system. Therefore, during the maintenance process, the system is required to be thoroughly cleaned. The filtration system of the entire system should be thoroughly checked and replaced if necessary. Bad treatment will have a negative impact on the long-term operation of the compressor, and may even cause irreversible consequences.
After checking the compressor, it is necessary to dehumidificate the system. We would recommend you to use dry nitrogen to dry in the system, then deal by vacuum. The lower the vacuum degree, the better the system would work, and the efficiency would be higher.
