How long does it take to freeze dry?

The freeze-drying process consists of three steps: 1. Pre-freezing, preparing samples for the subsequent ascending process. 2. One-time drying (sublimation drying), during which the ice rises without melting. 3. Secondary drying (analysis drying). In this process, the residual moisture of the bond and the solid material is removed, thereby leaving the dried sample. This step is very important for the stability of the sample.

Because the entire process of vacuum freeze-drying of the freeze-drying machine is carried out in a vacuum, low-temperature and low-pressure environment, it can effectively retain the heat-sensitive components of the freeze-dried product. Therefore, it usually takes about 24 hours for a freeze-drying. The specific freeze-dried products are also different. Freeze-dried fruits and vegetables are usually crisp for more than ten hours. If it is a biological product with a low crystallization point, it usually takes more than thirty hours.
